well now that its the end of march and the snow is pretty much gone I've parked my machine, looking back at some of the pics and vids we took this year I really have to say that this was by far the best season I've had yet! start of the season was okay....I used to own a VMAX 700 and was reasonably happy with how it went, two weeks in I decided It was time to retire the old girl and upgraded to an 07 phazer GT that was left over in the dealership from last year. anyhow first time out was buggy, the brake was sticking and I ended up melting my wiring harness and did some significant damage to the ecu box. yamaha was pretty reluctant to call it a defective brake but the dealer was good to me and gave me a new NYTRO FX to ride while they tried to determine the cause to the brake malfunction (turns out it was a faulty caliper and yamaha replaced it with minimal issues) so I got my sled back about mid december so I was happy and really my next machine will be a nytro no questions asked. over My christmas brake I rode every day trips ranged from 40kms to about 280kms and I couldn't have been happier with my phazer! I love it! the ride position is near perfect and the power was alway right where I needed it to be. I was told that the phazer GT is not a bump sled and that If i wanted to make it a bump mod I'd have to replace the skid and put bigger shocks and more aggressive springs, how wrong was my mechanic? mine was great on the bumps and took rough trail like a champ. so about in mid january we started getting alot of snow fall and I noticed i was getting stuck and bogging out a bit more then ussual. I decided to go bigger on the track, went up to an 1.25" ripsaw and I also had a new silencer put on. problem solved. all in all I logged over 2000kms this season alone. was great and had almost no down time for repairs and junk. the phazer took everything I could possibly throw at it and It came out wanting more.
though my season was more then spectacular I do live on quite a flat region so I don't get a whole bunch of opportunity to hit jumps unless I build them or I start jumping approaches in the ditch. so to make my ride more enjoyable when I'm riding with my freinds (who honestly don't like to jump their machines too much) I'd like to pull some more speed out of my sled. is there any suggestions that some of you might have as far as aftermarket clutch setups and/or intakes. or if you have any most bang for buck solutions I'd really like to hear them

I got the opportunity to take my machine out for one last final ride today, no snow in the fields or in the ditches but plenty to ride on the ice with it. I actually almost dumped it thismorning, rode on a fault line in the ice and it split infront of me, was kinda surprised that I was able to keep it above water, didn't have too much faith in my track or how fast I could get it to spin in a pinch but it seamed to work out just fine. noticed some whine in the track and my sliders are pretty wore out so its off to yamaha on payday to get new ones.
