In my part of the world the consensus seems to be MBRP should stick to what they are good at (Diesel exhaust systems) and let the people who specialize in power sports do what they do.

My truck's a gasser. But yes, I have heard extremely good things about their diesel exhaust systems.Thats what I just said.

Is there anything in particular you dislike about the MBRP system(s) for our Vipers? I haven't heard anything really negative other than the mufflers require repacking after a few years of use.

I've just taken a look at some of their stuff, I think I have a new system to consider now...Thanks!Not to Highjack the thread, I would put Excell's Silencer up with anything listed here. Much deeper sound, nothing too obnoxious however. I had the Excell header and silencer on my Nytro and its a bit different, but in my opinion less noticeable. It is typical Excell Quality, he did not miss anything on this and has been working on a quality product since he first received a Viper. Very happy with it and would highly recommend it as its quality is exceptional.

I can't really say anything about their Viper system. My experience is with the Nytro systems and there they had very negligible if any HP gains, they were just noise.
When I'm spending money I want HP not noise. I'll go to $100.00 per HP but I want HP.

Nytro Rule, Did you have a header and silencer system on your Nytro? If you did what was it? Again, way off the topic but a stock nitro vs. a Nytro set up with a Excell Header, silencer and Ulmer stage 1 clutch kit will absolutely blow a stock Nytro away. There is no comparison whatsoever. There is a person on here that bought my Nytro and he is nothing but satisfied with the performance of that sled, with a many, a video clips blowing 800's away. "Negligible Difference" ?
Since this a new Viper forum I will say there is not much out there in regards to how well a Header will help you, but Air box modifications, Silencers and Clucth Kits have all bee recognized as getting more out of that great engine that Yamaha makes.

My experience with the Viper MBRP can was that the 10hp claimed seemed correct. You have to take into consideration the Viper header is so much better than the Nytro was, so getting restriction out of the muffler side should make a bigger gain also.

I ran Aeen header, Skinz Ultra Quiet and Ulmer PCV with my own clutching. The only thing that ever beat me was not quit stock 14 Free ride 146. I needed 1 length to beat him 2 so I wouldn't see that---------that-------- that------------ GREEN.
I have a D&D for sale in classifieds. Just sayin.

What have seen is 128 to 134 HP from the Viper, as compared to 135 to 138 from the Nytro. Headers for the Nytro's were 6 to 8 HP. Hindle and Evolution are saying 13 to 15 from their Viper headers.
So I have to question the efficiency of the stock Viper header.

the fit finish quality and sound of the OSP can is much better then the MBRP any day. It is 4-500 bucks, BUT the difference in quality reflects that price quite nicely. I bought one for my viper as soon as they were available, and wouldn't think of running anything else now that I've got it. It is very loud and aggressive, but i ride in areas where that is never a concern. The material used to produce the OSP can and the hand welded TIG joints are second to none..........

Has anyone tried the ulmer can.
I would like to hear the Ulmer can as well. I am very certain it will make the claimed 7-8 HP.
It is unfortunate that our dollar hit the toilet though. $479.00 US becomes $565.00 CDN + shipping, customs and GST will make $700.00 by the time it's in my hands.

Yes, I was going to get Ulmer's can, but ordered a MBRP can because of the dollar situation.
