Looking to take my son out west snowmobiling this winter as an early graduation present - would like to fly out and just rent sleds and possible ride with a group - any info on where to go, where to stay, where to rent sleds, and anything else you think would be helpful I would appreciate - also, if anyone else is planning a trip that would not mind a couple more riders would be cool too

Cooke City, MT is a great destination for deep powder. It's 120 miles from me and, is the place I ride 99% of the time. Not much in terms of trail riding but, has plenty of off trail powder riding like pictured below.

West Yellowstone was a great place 10 years ago. The Park was a wonderful place to see once and the riding outsde the park was excellent. Stayed at The Stagecoach and they can take care of rentals for you, which allows you to keep the sleds overnight.
The new regulations for the Park may have taken some of the fun factor out of this trip.

I see you booked the rooms with Steve and Lisa (great people). Looking forward to meeting/showing you guys around next month. It should be a great time with some awesome snow (54" and counting). Check your PMs again if you haven't allready.

Talk at you some more over the next few weeks.
