The fan did kick on when I stopped on the trail, but I will double check to see what temp it turns onI have a 2015 LTX with turbo , Start it in the trailer and left idling . Fan will kick on before over heating ......so make sure your fan is working .

Mine has overheated to point of limp mode twice. Both times both the radiator and heat exchanger were compromised. Exchanger both times was covered in slush and once the rad fan was reversed in experiment and other time I had been right on someone's butt and the radiator had a layer of ice completely covering it. When I poked the ice away she cooled down right away. So in a good working system only one or the other needs to be working.

I just checked today and the fan kicked on a 195. The day it overheated I was leading and doing between 80-100 radiator wasn't blocked, but Mr sled mentioned the heat exchanger and I did not check to see if it was blocked, when we stopped.it cooled down and I was able to drive it back to the trailer, went back to my friends place, gutted the thermostat, loaded back up and headed back to trail 11, South boundary road and it did the same thing. Road about 12mi and it went into limp mode. Let it cool off and road it back to the trailer. My father inlaw pulled up next to me at the trailer and I was 217 and he was in the low 190'sMine has overheated to point of limp mode twice. Well like I said even if exchanger is plugged as long as radiator and fan are working in my experience it should not overheat. Do you have afr guage?I just checked today and the fan kicked on a 195. Are the fins on radiator all bent over?

I'll take a look tomorrow. I agree if the radiator is clear, it shouldn't overheat. A person I rode with last year, his fan quit working and as long as he was moving his sled did not overheat. Are the fins on radiator all bent over?
No AFR gauge on my sled.

When you took thermostat out you must have had to add coolant. Did you notice if it was circulating with radiator cap off?

I will check that hopefully tomorrow to make sure it is circulating.Since it overheated after i took the thermostat out, I suspect poor circulation for some reason! When you took thermostat out you must have had to add coolant. Did you notice if it was circulating with radiator cap off?

If you feel the cooling system is properly bled, and circulation exists than you may have to use a combustion leak detector to rule out a head gasket issue.
Can get tricky to identify.
