Hey guys. I just put the windshield off an 08 Mountain Apex ( blue and white ) on my blue and white Attak. Looks great except for the fact that it has the clear center section. I want to paint this center section white. Any suggestions. Should you paint the inside so that there are no visible transition lines on the outside? Also, what paint is best for this application? I don't want to ruin a brand new windshield. I have white Krylon Fusion paint from a previous job. Will it work here? Thanks.

I've painted a windshield in the past. Painted on the inside, colour red at the time. Results were okay, but once you get it in the sunlight you can see the uneven application of the paint.
I would think a vinyl; similar to decals is the way to go.

You're absolutley correct in painting just the inside. Krylon should work fine as it's a decent quality paint. I painted my Attak windshield chrome and it really came out great - even from a spray can.
Spraying many thin coats as evenly as possible will give the best results. One helpful hint from my experience is to hold the windshield up to the light when you think you're done and make sure no light shows through. When I did mine, I didn't notice that light would shine through until after I already mounted it and it didn't look that great looking into sunlight. I removed it again and recoated a few more times to get the right coverage.
Also, windshield bags can wear through the paint, so using felt underneath can help or you can just respray it if you notice this happening.
Hope this helps.

steal a green scotch brite pad from your wife when she's not lookin and scuff the inside of your winshield with it. then wash quickly with rubbing alcohol and imediately apply enamel spray can paint to it. put three light to medium coats of enamel. enjoy!

Do I have to use a plastic paint or a paint with a flex agent? Will regular enamel do or will it crack and web if flexed. Also, should I rough the surface with a scotchbrite pad or will this produce cloudiness. All info appreciated. Thanks.

The fusion should work fine. I had a sx windy back in the day with normal krylon rode it for 10,000 miles and it didnt chip or crack. I would just clean the shield before paint. I think the scuffs would show on the opposite side even with a good layer of paint.

you can use any kind of automotive paint. you must sand with scotchbrite on back side several thin coats. white doesnt cover well, when done coat with a layer of black this will help with any thin spots showing through. regardless of what paint you use it WILL make the plastic more brittle and a roll over or a fast treebranch hit will break it fairly easy.
