On my 07 attak, I noticed something I have not seen before, On the large bearing behind the secondary, the collar wore out to almost nothing? The bearing turns free, but the collar ( the part that slides through the bearing on the shaft, that the nut go's on ) wore out, still fastened tight to the nut, it slid through the bearing. I was able to get the nut off & slide it back through the bearing & remove it. I checked the bearing with a new collar & it tightened up just fine? Any ideas what made this happen? I have worked on a lot of these sleds & never seen this.

LoneRider same thing happened to my 07 apex gt back in 09 while I was in northern ontario on a trip, started to hear a clunk noise after coming to a stop n going on the throttle, I took a look one night while at the motel n notice there was play while trying to move the sec clutch in n out, never figured out how it happened but the only thing that makes sence to me is that the nut backs off just enough to cause play n then it's all over from there,
there's a bit of play on the shaft until you tighten the collar with the nut, once it back off just a bit it will cause the shaft to spin in side the bearing n grind down the collar, since I replaced both parts and used loctite it hasn't happened again...
