Just looked at another Phazer this weekend. It turns out that the rail width is stock Yamaha - same width as the Apex for example.

The 14" comes from simply removing the rubber from the outside.

Could not get a good look at the secondary, guy wouldn't give me a wrench, but it almost seems to have rollers. I'm NOT saying it is!

There is lots of room for a 2" lug track as well.

The weights are almost straight - no curve.

So who cares :o| I do.

On another story - a race cat spits it's track off - when the poor dude was running in second place in pro. Man...was he #$%&* That team has really worked hard and for that to happen...

it looks close to comming off......idk that my only concern of it is the track slipping off. But i trust in yamaha to not let that happen....its not liek them.

RJH, what's the tunnel width like? Do you think there will be enough room to fit a 15" wide track in the Phazer tunnel? Just trying to see if the Venture Lite's tunnel is any different from the Phazer's.

I highly doubt that they are any different...

The track won't come off I have and other people run 10 5/8" wide tracks on the stock skid some are running them up to 170 mph on asphalt and they don't come off.

That's the first thing I thought of too, but I also doubt it will ever happen. I'll more than likely be running this setup anyway, pic:

From memory - I don't think so. Again - the rails are stock width. There is a ton of room - at the turn - for deeper lugs.

I checked out a Phazer FX last week and I thought there was enough tunnel clearance to run a 15". I posted that on Snowest and a guy said the front of the tunnel at the bulkhead curved inward reducing the width. I don't know if that is true as I ddin't flip the brand new sled on its side. My dealer said the 15 will fit so that is what I believe. I think Yamaha went with the 14 primarily for weight savings. I do not understand why they went 14 wide on the Mtn Lite? Maybe it was marketing? A 15x136 does not seem "mountain" enough? I don't see the Phazer pulling a 15x144.

Got some pictures from inside the tunnel of an FX. I think it will be very tight with 15"

Dang... I should have just measured the width of the tunnel whan I was there. I live 300 miles from my dealer so I'm not going to be back up there anytime soon. It does look like it would be a tight fit in your picture.

went to a dealers today that had a phazer and they measured the bulkhead for me. he said it was just 15'' and a 15'' track is actually a hair under 15''. In his opinion a 15'' track would rub. Sorry for the bad news, but I,m sure camoplast will make a 14'' track with longer lugs.

Camoplast has a 14x121x1.5 Free Ride released already. RichieRich already has some.

I ran a 14 inch wide all last year on my viper. You can get the outside wheels on if you want. You just leave out the washers, or trim the alm bushings some. Maxdlx
