5 years R&D and they still don't have it dialed in ??? I'm not knocking the sled, but you'd think that after 5 years work on it they would have the bugs worked out before they had test rides !
My guess is that the 5 years of R&D has been on engine tech. The chassis is most likely post REV.
I looked at the sleds today at a Yamy show. They were very very impressive but rough around the edges and with several loose ends that look like significant first year problems to me. Also, 80 hp and a top speed of 80-85 just isn't enough for me. At 100 hp I'd be very tempted to take the risk.
