a faulty fuel pressure regulator will cause your sled to run lean.
this will cause the exhaust to run red hot.
this will melt out expansion couplers under tank.
then the heat shield.
then the tank.
then the fire.
test the fuel pressure by putting a tee in te fuel line before the fuel rail.
fuel pressure should be 42.7psi minimum.
if not your fuel regulator is faulty.
thats what lit mine up.
I put an adjustable fuel regulator on it and like magic no more red hot pipes.

Where did you get your adjustable Fuel pressure regulator ?

at a speed shop.
I used an AEROMOTIVE turbo progressive adjustable regulator.

Does this apply to stock sleds also or only turbo'ed?

it will work for either its adjustable
