Those of you with a Phazer - have any of you rode a vector as well ?
How do they compare ?
On paper and from what I have read here on theoretical top end speed of a phazer GT - the Phazer could win me over the vector.
The phazer is about 60 LBS lighter than a vector. Vector is a dated chassis. 10.5" versus 16" rear travel. I've sat on the phazer and I liked it but have no experience riding it.
Any Input here ?

They are two different machines built for two different types of riding. You can't really compare the sleds. If you are only concerned about top speed then the Vector would be the sled to choose. If you want a fun, throw it around, hit the whoops, etc, then the Phazer is the choice.
i have rode them both, and agree with the above post....
vector has plenty of power and comfort for the long day ride.... now the phazer, the rougher the better, this thing is a blast on the bumps, but a little underpowered, remember it is a 500 class machine.
depending on what you ride now, and how u ride, would determine what sled to buy..... if i was debating between the two, i might just ride what i have for one more year and see if YAMI ponies up the phazer for 08.....

How would the phazer do as a trail sled. I'm thinking speeds to not exceed 70-80mph. The reason being that IF the trails get beat at the end or middle of the day - it seems I might be better off with a phazer as the vector would be heavier on studder bumps and such.
What about acceleration on the tight trails (10-45mph bursts). Would the phazer 80hp feel about the same as the vector 120hp ?
Suspension - does the new phazer's 16" of travel really help over the vector's 11.5" ??

i would go with the phazer if all your going to do is like ride on twisty trails it will be more fun but if you are going to ride at high speeds go with the vector.
I've not looked very hard at the travel numbers but I can tell you right now that the Phazer does not have 16" of true, vertical travel. They come up with 16" by using the swing method and measure how far the rear idlers travel in an arc. I would not be at all surprised f the Vector and Phazer have the same amount of vertical rear travel.
The simple way to look at it is this; are your trails mostly tight or wide open? Down low, they will probably feel similar powerwise. The Phazer will feel snappy while the Vector takes a little bit to start rolling at a fast clip. At 70-80 the Phazer is rev'd out while the Vector will still be pulling.
