What does everyone else have planned for their new Phazer?
I can't wait to tear into mine (Mtn Lite), no turbo for me, atleast not for the first season. This time I want to keep the engine fairly stock, the piped Viper was just too unreliable and sucked way too much gas, limiting the amount of play time in the back country.
This time it will be diet, diet, diet! I will be looking forward to all the light-weight parts as they become available. Every little bit of shaved weight can be appreciated when pulling a sled from the steep & deep.
Some mods will add weight though, I call them "comfort mods". I got to have them, like hand guards and a skid plate. I have a new set of white/black PowerMadd hand gaurds in the garage waiting for the new sled to arrive. Will also be adding hooked bars if the Mtn Lite doesn't come with them.
I'm currently shopping around for a set of over-sized billet aluminum idler wheels, and white/silver/black apparal, I picked up an awesome Fox bucket earlier this summer that matches the Mtn Lite perfectly, along with black Scott Voltage goggles with Quick-straps, and a breath gaurd that I custom fit, it should be warm. Clutch kit and aftermarket pipe will be a definite, as long as it don't jeopardize the engine's reliability.
Also can't wait for the "free mods", airbox modifications and re-locate that damn gauge for example.
I can't wait for this winter! I can't wait to hop on a light-weight sled with electric start, push button reverse, and a reliable 4-stroke no-smoke EFI engine that sips fuel along the way!
So let's hear what all you guys and gals have planned for you new Phazer.

Mtn. Lite here as well:
Polished Tunnel, custom paint on the white panels, some type of exhaust, intake work, hand gaurds for sure, I've also got 2 8" billet wheels i need to get mounted on the skid.
I've also talked to MPI and they said they've allready begun on suspension parts, so hopefully some lightweight a-arms
I'm anxious as could be to get started on this thing when it comes in thats for sure!

Cool. What wheels did you go with? I really like these ones pictured below. Mountain Performance has a big wheel conversion kit that allows you to use 8" wheels without extending the rails, does anyone of a pic of this kit? I assume there will be slight rail modification to install this kit?

Mine are made by those same guys but mine are the 8 spoke wheels. I had them on my Cat 900. I hope they make the offset axle so they can be mounted on the new Phazer skid.
I don't know how I'd fab one up myself...

I think (think) the ends of the slide rails are the same on any Proaction and up skid, so current products like MountainPerfs big wheel conversion kit should fit the Phazer.

jp, Yamaha has a skid plate, I'm going to get that and a cover with my snowcheck bonus's
Otherwise I'll ride it stock, although if the ski's give me the
same issues I had during the test rides, I'll be upgrading those too...

Those are the Mountain Machine Performance Starfire wheels, Rich can get them for you. (richmotorsports.com) He also has the off-set axles but I'm not sure if they will fit the Phazer. The track is 1" narrower but I think Yamaha kept the idler wheel stance the same.

Not sure if it was the snow conditions or the skis, but on down hills
it started "washing" back and forth(not sure if thats the right term
for it, but thats the best I could come up with)
Snow conditions were spring like, I test rode at rabbit ears..
then again it might have just been rider error...

I probably won't be there again, its a long haul to get there
and well it was too busy for my tastes, there were more people
in one parking lot than I see all season.

I'm shure that some simmons skis or dul runner carbides will take care of that issue. [/quote]
Try shimming those ski's before you buy anything other then carbides. It is likely to work. Also make sure you check alignment. I be some percentage of darting on new sleds is because the hacks at the dealers didn't align the ski's correctly. Here is a URL for shimming
