this summer i did a few upgrades to the phazer. upbushmans stearing bushings and spindle savers, 4strokesolutions roll over valve, polished helix, and rsi ice scratchers..while mounting the ice scratchers i noticed i could probly mount an extra wheel where the suspension mounts onto the rails. i have seen the post where someone put an extra full size wheel infront of the suspension mount by drilling a new hole, but i was thinkin bout just buying an extra wheel and mount and bigger bolt and bolting into the swing arm. tell me what you think bout this idea, if it'll be strong enough

I personally would not mount there. that shaft takes 50% of the load of the rear suspension. and if on hard exel even more.... i just had my rails on the 40th welded up in that area with another 1/4" aluminum plate because of load. put the wheel in front.. then your not messing with another stress riser in the rail hole location. just my 2cents.

if anything... try the rear cross shaft in the pic.. i've seen them mounted there!

the rear cross shaft is where the idler was originally, i just moved the idler there temporarily for the use of the picture. thanks for the info, after knowing this i definitely wont be mounting it there haha.

I've got about 1700 miles on mine with my add on wheels I did, Lots of hard trail riding, and jumping snow banks on to hard pack too with no cracks/bends due to the extra wheels. My writeup is in my SIG, that 1,700 miles is all on one set of slides too.

i did mine on my 136

hmm... i'm thinkin i'm just gunna mount a couple inches infront of the suspension mount. its still going to be the same price, and i wont have to worry bout my suspension giving out. if i did alot of off trail i wouldnt be doin this, but i do about 60 percent trail, and 30 percent hard pack off trail, i'm only in fresh virgin snow like under 10 percent of the time. the wind around here turns fields stone hard
