Phazer Skid Plate

It offers some belly protection, is cheap and looks good. Thats why I bought mine.

I know it looks good but does it offer any real protection? Has it saved your Phazer from damage? Does it collect snow and ice as some pictures have shown.

Yes I think it offer real protection if you hit a rock or wood'n pin who is f.ex hidden under the snow. I havent hit anything yet and I hope that I dont do that either. About collecting snow/ice, yes it does but I havent had any problem with that so far.

The skid plate have saved me on all my earlier sleds so I think it can be a good thing to have just in case.

Out here in the Great Land there are no groomed trails, and I ride off trail a lot too! I have hit all kids of thing and believe that the skid plate was a good thing to have. Would I have damaged to the sled? I don't know for sure, but I was glad to have it.
Ice build up between the plate and the sled has it's issues...you can see on Yellowknife's picture...I have not had that problem, but we don't really have deep snow here in the Delta.
Hope this helps.... :rocks: :-o[/quote]

I took your recommendation and went to the local Yami dealer and tried to install the Phazer Ultra Plate on my Venture Lite. The mounting holes on the Ultra Plates are 12 inches apart on the aft holes. The Venture Lite has the holes 14 inches apart. What plate do you have Gypsy?

Works really well to protect the belly, I've hit it good recently..
although the sway bar bracket is still vulnerable, luckily I didn't have my sway bar on anymore when it took a wack.
