looking for a bit advise here guys.... i got to say i love my phazer, fun to ride, great in the bumps.. could use more HP but overall i am pleased. Other than i spend most of my time digging the damn thing out when i go off trail.
I am looking at putting a 1.5" free ride on my phazer, or getting the kit from tracks usa to bring it up to 136 with the 1.5" freeride. But i was told that if i put a 1.5" to be prepared to loose so much top end it wouldn't be worth it.
my other insite is to trade in on a new 2010 xtx for next winter.. but the track upgrade is not as expensive as a sled trade up..
i know i am going to be taking a shovel when i head to lewis hills in a few weeks. and will lose a good few lbs on the trip
your thoughts and opinions?

For the hp mods I went with a set of uni cold air intake pods I bought from denniskirk.com $9.95, next the Excell exhaust system, Ulmer racing clutch kit, and a dynojet power commander which I bought from Aaron at excellmotorsport.com. Aaron has a fuel map for the power commander than is dyno tested by him and Allen Ulmer to work with this set-up. To get the power down I would highly recomend getting a new track the camoplast 9033c 121x14 with 1.5" lugs. This track hooks up. My sled is pretty dang fast. I have hit 96mph on flat open lake, 0-70mph is in the blink of an eye, no problems hanging the skis for 20-30ft. All of my riding buddies have 600 polaris and skidoos all of which are $10,000 sleds, none of them have ever past me untill the mid 80mph. With all these mods I still have great fuel milage and reliability. I did new skis too, the stock yamaha ones suck. If you want to see some pics of my set-up shoot me your normal email address, I have a hard time shrinking the pics to go on this site. Thanks [/b]

If you can afford it why not upgrade. Look for an 09 xtx, they are giving a $1500 refund right now. I cant afford it so I will be going with the TracksUSA 136x1.5 upgrade next fall.

There is a LOT of snow in Lewis Hills. Be careful. You'll have a difficult time without a 1.5".

i was in last year and didn't have much trouble but dad tells me there is a lot more snow this year.. we got another bit of snow today.. just spent two hours digging my phazer out after getting bogged down on the side of the house.. i think i might trade up to the xtx or switch over to the new renegade xp 800r just a lighter, cheaper machine
