So I picked u my brand new xtx 2014 wow a thing of beauty , so my question is , is there any must dos to this sled that I should consider Ty , oh by the way it comes with dupont sliders :4STroke:

The 14 XTX comes with the Yamaha Tuner Skis not sure you can use snowtrackers with them. You will need to change Skis to have Snowtrackers i believe.

The Tuner skis are a big upgrade from pass Yamaha skis. Take it for a ride before mod you maybe happy with it from your pass sled. :sled2:

I just noticed it has a much smaller gas tank , any tips on how I can carry more gas along ? What have others done ? Thanks

That's odd. I thought they were all the same. How much fuel does it say it holds?

Yamaha Canada's website shows snowtrackers for tuner skis.

it has the tuner skies already, no need for any other skies or snow trackers. I switched to a set of the tuners last year with dual 6" carbides and it handles great now with no darting whatsoever. i added more weight to the front and now rails with hardly a hint of any pushing. I'd ride it first and get the suspension tuned to your liking before making any other changes;)!

XTX please add your location to your porfile it is a site rule thanks.

At least we have a couple of sane members who recommend-- RIDE IT BEFORE YOU MOD.

How can many of you make "wholesale recommendations" when the new sled owner has not even ridden one (1) mile? In this case, HE doesn't have a specific problem --why would you recommend a specific answer?

do not be suprised on the 1st big bump at speed if you feel a snapping/crunching from the rear suspension. shocked the heck out of me on the 2013 jan ty ride.

I will recommend that you check the toe in before you go riding as mine was set almost 1" toed out.

the only other setting I would recommend is setting the torsion springs to soft unless you weigh almost 300lb+ as it will spank your #*$&@ in rough trail.

I leave the shock settings to you as that is for your personal preference .

I bought my apex as nos on dec 31 2012 and the rear torsion spring setting happened on the side of the trail towards the end of the 1st day. viperdave and others told me I would be turning those to soft before the end of the day. I wish I had listened to them sooner.
