I agree with the above posts, pretty much night and day difference and we'll be interested to read your impressions.
For what it's worth, that 2000 Doo you're coming off was a real nice sled in its day. I think your biggest transition will be with the seating position coming off a pure 'old school' riding position machine. It won't be too bad if you're used to riding bikes or ATV's but it still takes a little seat time to get used to the way it handles.
Once you're comfortable, you'll be jumping driveway approaches and grinning from ear to ear.
I came of mzx 600. Had it from new and it was a great sled. Riding position is the biggest difference. As another post says you will be looking for thinks to jump the FX off of as it is a totally different ride. As for power up to 60mph I think the phazer pulls as hard and is very responsive. Above 60mph you start to miss the 28hp difference. It all depends on what kind of riding you like. I wouldn't go back I am having a ball on the FX
