I have pilot 5.7 on my 09 Nytro 121. The skis have 4" woodys on center and out side. Sled handles nice on hard pack and never darts, but it will not turn on loose snow. I tried pulling up the limiter straps, stis made it hard to turn the skis, but the sled still pushes like a mofo. Has anyone tried shaper bars on the 5.7 skis?? I may go back to my Camoplast skis, they turn awsome, but they do dart alot.

I never felt the pilots were a good ski. The yamaha mtx ski is a much better choice imo as it handle deeper snow better and handles the trails excellent even with just round bars.

I have tried shapers and they will help you steer. They likely will not push any more. My problem with them is that they made it hard to steer and made the sled tippy because they gripped so well.

I don't think there is a cure for this particular ski when it comes to lack of bite in loose snow conditions. It's in the design of the ski. Simply compare a C&A skis with a longer keel vs. Pilots, why do you think majority of snowcross riders use C&A's? Their ability to bite in loose snow..

I have pilots on my nytro as well. work very well but yes are crap in the deep snow. They also worked this way on my doo as well and buddies who have revs all have the same complaints but we ride mostly hard packed anyway. Most likely the ski. I have sahpers on my pilots 7.5" in the middle and 6" on the outside turns awesome might push once in a while but most sleds will under certain conditions.
I had precisions on my older doo and I though they worked great better that the pilots but I haven't found anyone who has used them on there Nytro so I went with the pilots.

The better set up is 7.5 shapers middle and 4 inch outside on 6.9 pilots. The 6.9 along with being wider ,have deeper keels and bite better than the 5.7s.

I've tried just about every combination on Pilots and always ended up with aftermarket skis. Always loved Powder Pros and enjoyed the Sly Dogs I had on my 600SDI. Just put a set of Curve XS on the Nytro - they look like a nice ski - very similar to the Powder Pros.

I am planning on putting Pilot 5.7 skis on my Nytro. I do not ride off trail and am not an agressive rider. Looking for something to make the steering a little easier. Seems like it is hard to find a happy medium ski.

The problem I had (no bashing Pilots - just my experience) is that these skis PUSH the way I ride. Admittedly, I do ride fairly aggressively, but not as hard as some of the guys I ride with. And I don't mean they push at the limit - I mean they push pretty much all the time. On hard pack they are a fine ski, very neutral. But carry too much speed in to a drifted in sweeping turn and you're gonna find yourself off the trail. That's why mine always ended up on E bay.

A buddy of mine put the 5.7 Pilots on his '06 600 Fusion to help with his darting. I rode his sled yesterday in the deep snow, I was surprised how much his sled pushed.

I have the 6.9 Pilots on my '09 Nytro XTX. My sled doesn't seem to push as bad as his. Maybe because of the width and they float great in the deep snow. The 6.9's work great on my Nytro, great in the deep stuff.

I have 5.7 on my Nytro and they are great on the trail and not bad in the loose snow, but I have 6.9 on my Ski-Doo and it will not turn in the deeper snow, maybe because the sled is lighter. I am going to but on Shaper Bar on the Ski-Doo and that should help. The Nytro is a much better sled with the Polits.

I have 6.9s on my xtx and for the most part like them. We have had lots of loose snow conditions this season and I have noticed an interesting thing with them. If you push them by steering aggressively or abruptly they tend to break loose in loose snow. Where if you steer progressively, sort of rolling into a sharp turn rather than trying to turn all at once the push goes away. I think this is due to the tunnel design of the ski, where they need snow "moving" through the tunnel in order to work correctly. If you steer sharply you then cut off the tunnel to quickly, and hence you push. Just something I have noticed and seems to work for me, also if it does start to push I just straighten the skis a bit and then roll into the steering again and typically that's how I know where the "edge" is.

I have been running powder pro's on all my sled since 02 i really like that ski works awsome everywhere . I put them on my wifes viper too all slp skis are nice . Highly rec. those skis

i have the 6.9 pilots on my vector and they are great in firm or hard snow. rode the last few days in soft snow and it darts a little and it turns different. if you let the sled roll into the corner its fine. if you try to snap it through the corner its diffucult to turn. it doesnt handle bad but its not like that when the snow is hard. just a litle rider adjustment thats all.

My pilots pushed until I put 8" bergstroms in the center and 4" on the outside. That seemed to help a lot.
