Hey guys,
I am switching over to 6.9 Pilots on my 07 Apex RTX running a 128" Cobra with 204 1.450 Gold Diggers. If I run the factory Ski Doo 4" out side carbides what should I run in the center? I would normally run a 10" on a Yamaha ski but not sure about the Pilot 6.9...I've read that the outter 4" rarely comes into contact with the trail???
Thanks!

I ran 6" doo carbide down the center and 4" on the outside that I got with the skis, last year and was reasonably happy with them. Going to try the aggressive snowtrackers this season once the trails setup a bit with the stock 4" on the side. Your track and studs are a little more aggressive than my setup, so you may want to go with a longer shaper bar down the middle. Your right, the outside carbide really only makes contact when cornering. I like the 6.9's bigger footprint.

I just got a e-mail back from the tech people at Woodys and he said a Pilot won't accept a carbide any larger than 8" so I guess that is what I will have to run. I like the feedback on this forum...very helpful!

Don't think you could even get a set of 10" carbides for the Pilot ski. If I were you, I'd opt for the 8", especially with your traction.
If you want an aggressive ski, I certainly would recommend C&A skis. The Pilots aren't all too aggressive, especially in looser snow.

I had the 128" cobra w/ 153 studs and used the 6" center and 4" outer carbides. I did go with the more aggressive 6" carbide offered by Roetin. I ride aggressive and that front end stayed planted and the steering was light. My bud ran the pilots as well and had 192 studs (121" track) and also used the 6"/4".
