I think you mean why Deuce? So they don't dart. Single carbide on the Pilot center will dart as outside carbide is off the ground yet.
Navigator provide protection for plowed fields, rocks ect. also provides some help to help eliminate darting as well, but when I ran them with just single shapers this spring, I still noticed some darting that is not there with the Deuce.
Yes duece..
You think the navigator prevents the need for the duece carbide... And shimming then?

No, I don't think the Navigator does much to prevent darting much myself, but it doesn't hurt. I'm using it more for poor riding conditions and ski protection than anything, along with the added protection of the Deuce bars, the skis are well protected from rocks and dirt chunks of the plowed fields etc.
I'm not shimming things with the Doo ski on the Cat chassis as I want to keep steering light. I've also arched the Deuce bars a bit to make them even easier to steer.
I also use the Aggressive snowtrackers on the Doo skis, but hate to abuse them in poor crappy conditions, so very glad I'm able to use the stockpile of carbide on the Winder I have laying around from all my testing of Doo skis and Doo carbide combos.

Steering effort was not bad, going to put a set of deuce bars on, 6", and go from there. Conditions on my first ride were the kind that any ski might dart. Are the D2410's the correct ones? Says any pilot, just 2 studs into skis.
Guys.....the pilots have less darting then any other ski when setup correctly.
I would run a single carbide center and outer first in several conditions....I have ZERO darting with mine and love the carving ability.
MOST EVERYONE will say the downfall of a pilot is push....(not darting) So if you instantly go to ANY duece or dual style center runner you will instantly INCREASE their worst attribute which is PUSH.
Just step back, there is a massive thread already on these skis with tons of feedback....I dont recall ANYONE mentioning darting in that whole thread.
People on this site for one reason or another dont read close enough and tend to "cherry pick" information. One thing I feel proud of is I do try to read everything here and that gives a good consensus. When there is so much info on these skis and subject matter, it boggles my mind when a new thread pops up with what seems like total disregard for the massive amt of 'consensus' that has already been formed in the original thread.
When you come off a ski-doo, where they have heavy steering, and can be quite darty.....and then get on this chassie, I believe this chassie works so well with the pilot that darting is mostly due to using a shaper, or not enough carbide on outer, or setup, or conditions....but the last thing I would ever do is add a dual.
The OP said right off the bat, he had NO outer carbide.

Yes Dan, but he was asking about the Deuce bars for it, which will eliminate the darting he has with the single carbide much better than just adding the outside carbide which does not touch the ground so does dart when not touching the ground.
IMO the Deuce bars work very well on the Winder. I couldn't say that about the Doo. I used them for one day on the doo and put them in the cabide pile!
Like you said, everything works better on the Winder. It steers easier, pushes less, darts less and seems to do it all better than the Doo. I'm surprised about that too as it is so much heavier.
