I have read most of the old posts on bar risers and didnt see my issue discussed. I tried to install a Rox 2" pivot riser on my 07 Rage GT tonight. When I rotated the riser so the bars were more forward, all of the cables, hoses, etc. going to the bars were getting pinched between the top tube from the steering hoop and the plastic trim opening for the steering column. I had to remove the steel cable strap that held the cables because of the cable bend radius being too tight. The throttle cable would hang up on the plastic trim when you turn the bars.

I then tried to use a 1" Powermadd riser block and found an interference with a post on the bottom of the bar clamp that caused the clamp to not sit flat on the riser block. I would have to either cut off the post on the bar clamp or notch the riser block.

How are you guys using a pivot riser on these sleds? What am I missing? Thanks, G.B.

It looks like your Rage and my Vector came with the same handlebar set up. I recently switched to a different handlebar that had less rise so I needed a riser just to make up the difference in height.

I was going to use a Rox but my dealer suggested this one instead:

With the steel cable guide loop installed in the stock location, I ran into the same issue when rotating the riser forward. It put too much of a bend in the cables. I relocated it to the new upper handlebar clamps and it works well. It doesn't look like the Rox will allow you to do this. Maybe you could fabricate a new guide from heavy wire or cable ties?

The boss cast into the bottom of the original lower clamp looks like it's there for alignment with the flat plate on top of the steering column. It probably doesn't matter if you grind it off or notch your riser block to accept it. I couldn't use the original lower clamp because it wasn't recessed deeply enough in the center to allow the Powermadd riser to sit down in the clamps. Luckily, the riser came with new clamps.

It sounds like you have a good eye for detail and I'm sure you'll work out a solution. Best of luck.

Thanks Martin for your info. I have my stock bars rotated as high as the stop pin will allow and they are not quite high enough for me to really grab the bars when standing. I loved my 2" Rox on my Viper and hoped to use it on my new Rage.

I will have to look again to see if there is a way to use the steel cable guide with the Rox. That might help. As you mentioned, I am sure that I can grind off the locating post on the lower bar clamp. The whole handle bar and clamp set up looks very similar if not the same as my Viper without the locating post. Thanks again, Brett

I have the ROX 2" pivoting riser on my 05 Vector. I simply removed the steel cable guide altogether without any issues. I still use the stock handlebar bad though.

Thanks Tfin, I will have to try my Rox again. The stock cable guide would not fit with the Rox and it would have put a lot of pressure on the cables. All I remember is that when I turned the bars the throttle cable was getting hung up as it was wedged between the top of the steering hoop and the edge on the opening in the tank cover. I dont see how I could route it any different. Did you have to un clip your parking brake and brake cables with yoru set up? Thanks, G.B.

Yeah, definately give it another shot without the cable guide.....its been working for me for going on three seasons now.

No I didn't re-route my parking break cable......I just bent the metal retaining clip that holds the cable to the brake assemble up a bit. I also opened it up more so the cable would slide through it freely when you turn the handle bars.

Should work for you.

I will thanks! G.B.

I have the same setup as TFIN and mine worked without any hitches also by remove the metal guide. I didn't have to bend any clip for the brake either.
