This last year was hard on my bad back, and darting was an issue, so this is what I want to do. Pilot 5.7 skis w/ Bergstrom carbides and skisavers- 8" carbide on center, 4"to the sides. Duo-Tek air shocks up front. Track size to increase to 136" w/ Camoplast IceRipper XT, wrapped around an M20 Airwave Diamond, and covered with a Hartman tunnel. Apex seat possibly. Lot of money, but I hope I will be happy. Any thoughts would be appreciated as I'm quite new to modern sleds!

The suspension will fix your back. The apex seat will also help with that. When I went with a taller seat it helped.Check on a mountain mod seat.

I think that should do the trick! It will be like a new sled for you! make sure you have a 13mm sway bar on there to help with the roll through the corners!

Yowzas - plan right now to keep all the factory suspension and put it back on when you go to sell. Keep that fast stuff for your next sled or sell seperatly otherwise you will lose most of that money.

apex seat was best money ever spent.

OK. 13mm swaybar from Pioneer Performance on list before the seat!! Had the stock suspension sold to a local guy, but he's not able to come up with the money. I will take your advice and keep it. I'm 53, and as nice as this sled is, I doubt there will be another, unless something happens to this one. But, you just never know!!

How tall are you?

Spending over $3000+ on suspension will still not fix a bad seating positon (ie hunched over)

If your over 6' I highly reccomend a apex seat and taller bar risor.

5'8" Lost an inch between 2 discs blowing out and both hips getting replaced. Current seating is fine with me, just want more padding. After putting some foam under my butt on current seat, I don't think I'll need riser. My plan is to buy a Apex seat, but not put it on until I try the new suspension. Then, if I feel I don't need the seat, I will resell it.

Do what ever you like. Knees below hips is MUCH more comfortable. My dad is 5'7" and has a vector with the same seating as a RX1 and we swap sleds on my apex and he loves mine and following him his back is straight up and down and not hunched over like it is on his.

FYI when looking for apex seats there are two different foam varieties and stiffness. The accent stripe is in the middle of the side of the seat is the softer foam, if its on the bottom of the side of the seat its the stiffer foam. I go 220lbs and the softer one was to soft and I swapped a guy that is lighter then me for the stiffer one and it was perfect. The soft one I sank into the seat to much and ended up in the same seating position as the rx1.

Stiffer foam is on 07+ RTX and all mountain sleds
softer is on everything else and GT sleds.

I highly recommend getting an apex seat I have apex mountain seat on my warrior and love it it's more comfortable that my dads attak.

Sat on my sled tonight, and my knees and hips are at the same level. My wife has harassed me for years that I have short legs and a long body, so that explains why I'm not hunched. My back handled most of the 5 weeks I was riding (918 miles) fine, although I hated the sled on the stutters! Slow down, or just go for it and risk an unfortunate accident. I feel confident the M20 will solve alot of that. So that is #1 on my list, the extra track length was recommended, and I know I could use the traction! So, in this case, if I go for the Apex seat, should I just plan on a riser, or wait and see ? I am trusting you guys, because of all the great info here so far. Just understand that I have 918 miles under my belt since the early 70's, loved all of it as much as I did as a kid, but need to consider my body much more now! Thanks guys, alot of good points in your posts!!

Part of the elevated posture and risors is so that standing is easier and when you see a "oh sh**" bump or hole coming you can stand up. The M20 is the nicest suspension there is for the riding you want to do but nothing will take out the big g bumps as good as just standing up.

2" risor fits without new cables.

It completely changed the feel of the sled, also rotate the bars forward so your hugging the gas tank, suspension works better and it handles sooo much better.

No cable change sounds great to me!! Hate to be lazy, and not search, but if you have a seller, I'd like the hint!! Thanks!!
