has anyone used plasti dip on the tunnel of their rx1 .how does it hold up.i was thinking of doing my tunnel on my sled so it would be all black like on the apexes .let me know .thanks.

I have wanted to for a few years, but have not tried it. I use the product on my coil springs, spindles, and a-arms. Works great in that application, much better than paint or powder coating, very flexible and actually very hard to remove. It has to be be peeled off, can't sand it off. I would use an etching primer and do several light coats, maybe turn sled on its sides to apply. Obviously I been considering this for quite some time. I think it would work great. If you pull the trigger, please let us/me know.

have read posts of guys doing more of a bed liner type material on here.....do a search. I do not recall anyone doing the plastic/rubber type dip. Interesting though???

would think smooth rubber would be slippery maybe im looking at it the wrong way?

Plasti-Dip has a very rough texture, I used it on the grill of my old car.

I have done the top of my tunnel so far.. I will be doing the rest.. Looks good and requires no prep.. Also can be touched up easily...

Here is a picture of my rims.. I plasti dipped them awhile ago holds up great..

hey bigshow can you post some pictures of your tunnel painted .please and thanks .

Hello guys been following the post im intrested in doing this or bed liner so just s dumb question what type of plasti dip are you using spray brush on? thanks jdp

What kinda prep work did u have to do to do this? How far did u have the sled torn down?

I took the seat off and the plastic in the back.. I already had all the front plastic off from another project..

All I did was wash the tunnel.. The good thing about plasti dip is that it is removable.. So no real prep(sanding, primer) It holds up real well but can be pealed off..
It has lasted on my rims for a few 1K miles now.. Pressure washed a few times..So Ithink it will last on the tunnel for awhile..

You dont really have to tape anything off...With enough pressure you can rub it off or with a razor start it peeling.. I taped just for less clean up...

You can watch you tube videos of people using it and taking it off....
