Play in my Bars

The other day I took the sled out in the field and I found that there is alot a play in my bars. What I need to know is how mach play should there be it's about 2-3" of play.

That's more than I had andd had to replace all of the bushings in the steering column.

I replaced mine with the oilite bushings and blocks from OFT.

They took out most of the play, I still have some play in the arms by the oil filter.

I took out all 3 main bushings from top of bars to back of the oil tank.. Sanded down the plastic bushings about an 1/8 and the brass spacers the same reassembled and the steering now has no play!! feels new!!

Every yamaha sled I have tried has had excessive play in the bars. My apex with 380 miles on it has more than my 04 xc 700 with 2700 miles on it. I just figured it was a yamaha thing...

Sand the bushing help a lot,but still got most of the play in the link at end of the shaft were is the oil thank.I'am thinking built one my self to cure the play.
