Hey I was riding my 2006 apex er I went to pass someone and my skidoo died for a sec I let off the throttle and it started idling Again fine I touched the throttle again it shut off i started it again and touched the throttle it shut off again and did this two more times till it stoped now it will just crank over and over I found a chewed up speed sensor so I replaced the sensor and it is still showing er-1 on the cluster and will just crank over i went through my wiring harness everything looks fine to me but I’m wondering if I fried the ecu when I chewed the speed sensor any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
To chew up the speedo sensor and gear you must have a bearing issue on that side of you jackshaft. I would correct the bearing issue first and work from there.

I ended up buying a new speedo cluster with my er-1 problem. That fixed it. Had tried everything else.

I bought a ecu on Thursday plunged it in and she fired up after I took the wiring harness out the night before and did a continuity test on each individual wire in the harness and found no problemsI ended up buying a new speedo cluster with my er-1 problem. That fixed it. Had tried everything else.
