OK I have a 03 RX1 with a SkiDoo SC10 III suspension in it 4 in of extra foam 1 1/4 ripsaw did all the upgrades straight rate front springs longer swaybar links bigger sway bar ECP kit overdrive clutch windage plate EVAC kit cams degreed timing advanced all the crap. I liek the way the sled went, could always use more power LOL but it went good. Problem is I am 285 pounds and I could never get it to ride well. I am looking at 2 sleds one is a 06 APEX GT with the electric Ohlins 3000 miles track is worn a little, Has processor excell exhaust and clutching. The other is an 07 Apex RTX with the same stuff except the exhaust is not excell aftermarket but not excell processor clutch etc. I am owndering about ride. I ride hard the trails are not always the best but I ride on groomed trails. I have ridden a Apex GT and it was good. They will both cost me 4000 and my 03 RX1 I am mostly just looking at opinions for ride because I havent ridden a RTX just a GT and want to be happy with the ride.

1 Does the RTX ride as good?
2 The RTX is one year newer and is YES until 11/09
3 I realize power should be about the same, but ride what aer the differences?
4 They tell me the RTX is more of a ditch banger than the GT is that true?

Go with the 07 RTX, you will not be disappointed. The suspension will hold up better with your weight. I am 230lb but have the 06 with the mono. Have ridden the 07 many of times and IMO the pro suspension 07 handles the weight much better than the mono.

Yep I 2nd that...MONO is more of a PLUSH/CRUISING long hauls on groomed trails...RTX is more for DITCH banging, jumping and great in the ROUGH stuff once you get'r dialed in!

Thanks guys anyone else have any bad input? I am just worried that I will end up with something I am unhappy riding. The rider forward helps and I am sure its better than my RX1, I pick it up tomorrow unless I change my mind. The only thing after looking at both sleds is maybe trading my RTX seat for the softer GT seat anyone done that?

I wouldn't trade the seats. You and I are the same weight and the stock Attak/Apex seats are way too soft. After 50 miles the foam in mine was packed down and I had my knees above my hips. Traded gade-thrasher for his Nytro seat and it's a LOT better. I think you'll be happier with the RTX seat, IF, you get that sled LOL.

I really like my 07 RTX, fits my riding style well. Excells in the smooth trails, does good in most bumps, its managable in the large bumps. When it gets super rough I head for the seasonal roads, not a great "big" 2-3' plus bump sled in my opinion.

Are you sure you want a new sled?, reading what is already done to your sled, I would just longtrack it and take the time to dial in your handling.

This sled already seems to be awsome, just needs to be dialed in to get the handling right, and as for power, save the momey you would spend on an apex and boost it!
