so while taking off my headlight pod,one of the bolts broke the plastic where the clip is.I ended up twisting it right off.i can still get the clip on but not sure if it will hold.Any body else make this mistake?And...am I screwed?

Are you talking the the clip/plastic tab on the right or left side of the headlight pod where it mounts to the metal bracket with 10mm bolts??

Yea...pretty common area for them to break as the plastic is very thin and the clip rips right out when you loosen or tighten the bolt and the clip spins.

I had the one on my right side of the headlight pod break. I ended up using a small metal bracket (1/2" wide by 2" long) which I bent to match the contour of the plastic tab (or where it used to be before it broke off. Mounted it in place with JB Weld (used an excess amount to give it extra strength). Before I mounted the metal bracket I drilled it with an oblong hole to accommodate the OEM clip that the 10mm bolts goes into.

been there and have fixed it . i've posted fix before i see if i can find it

cant find it but here's what i did . take a 6 mm bolt with nut wax it up . rough up the inside of that horn that the clip is on . fill that cavity with marine tex or jb weld and bury the nut and bolt inside it making sure the bolt is in the right position. when cured the bolt will unscrew( that is why u wax it).i broke mine first day out on my 07 and have removed and reinstalled pod many many times since . i feel its better than original. pm me your phone number and i will talk u through it
