What is the primary use of your RX-1? Just trying to get an idea of the main types of riding these sleds get, since they are very good all-around performers, and do everything pretty well. Feel free to elaborate on this in a message.
I use mine for an equal mix of performance trail riding and touring sled. I know this seems like opposite ends of the spectrum, but it does both very well. I also play in a little powder on occasion.

We do both trail riding and lake racing but the trail riding is more important. It wouldn't do me any good if I could win the races on the lake but couldn't ride the trails in comfort. But on the other hand I will do everything I can to win on the lakes to which might include a turbo later this year.

Paperweight, sorry I had to do it. Riding it where ever I can that has white stuff, lol. Mostly trails in the UP.
It's nice to have a long distance traverler that can kick but on the trails - or - a performance machine that you can put > 200 miles/day w/o breaking a sweat!

I'm with CG. I want a smooth refined and good handling trail sled, that I can also slap saddlebags on, and do 300 miles in a day. If the trails are too rough, and a REV or Firecat are better options, well, I just avoid those trails, or take my REV

It's nice just to get out and blast down the trail for a couple of hours and not have to worry about having extra clean gas and extra oil. Just squeeze and go

Mines a TOY. The primary use is to PLAY with it.
ON SNOW!
Which we don't have enough of, which is why I'm reading posts like this. You must not have any either....

I got one because of the engine, period. I don't like riding and looking at the odometer and wondering what was going to fail on my 2-smoke next.

Very, very true! Last (and only) long ride I dared to do on my ZRT involved carrying a bag packed with spare parts...just in case. Extra plugs (full box), coils, fuel hoses, tow rope, and a few other things. Now when I do long rides, I pack a tow rope (in case the 2 stroke I'm with breaks down), extra belt (just 1, not 2 like the Cat), and extra clothes. Its a very nice feeling to know I'll RIDE home at the end of the day, instead of walking out.

Performance, even though I'm running stock. If riding hard and fast qualifies. When I'm with the wife, its general riding.
