I see that Skinz now offers a universal rear rack for sleds. If someone has the measurements of the rear tunnel of an XTX, we would know if this would fit. It looks ok. Check it out! ............. opinions?

remember you have an exhaust back there, even with a turnout, the mtx has heat issues, depending on what you put back there and the angle of the turnout. be carefull, ski

Tell us more about the heat issues. I too was thinking about installing a rack and exhaust turnout on my XTX for gas or at least storage.

Ya, more info on the heat man! 
I know there will be heat, but its hard to judge how it will affect a gas can in cold temps when the can is 6 inch away from it....

yamaha made a bulletin on the exhaust turn out for posssible heat issues for the mtx for bags, gas can damage, fire ect...
the 153 mtx will have a longer tunnel ext than the 144 xtx. if you search the site (especially in the fx nytro mtx area) there are pics, and posts on burning bags ect...
i have not had any heat issues BUT, i have an mtx with the longer extension. i am modding my mtx for under tunnel exhaust, seat with storage, and tunnel block off. i already have a doo gas can mounted to the mtx, and it works well. no heat issues but again, i have a longer tunnel than the shorty and xtx. trying to compare them is apples to oranges. ski
