Powder Claw

hey Sled

Its pretty straight forward and goes right in. The only thing you have to do if you are running anti-ratchet drivers that are not made specificaly for the powerclaw you will need to trim off the little nubs on the outside edge of the track. ttabs sticky at the top explains it pretty well. You have to trim every other one. Easy to do just a little time consuming is all. The nubs hit the drivers and cause huge vibration issues. You will love the track. It will be a whole new sled after install.

I have the shitty maverick track and all it has done is bend and cup. So found the power claw cheap take off and wanna swap them out was just making sure I do not have to change or check for anything

Why not use the new ascent that is on the mtx?
I was considering the Ascent or the Peak for this season, but couple of reported durability problems around my place made me think twice. I went for the Challenger Extreme instead, which is reported to be the better choice for fresh powder anyway.

Also, the Ascent is a bloody expensive option as it is available from Yamaha only. This is why some get the Peak instead, even though you have to swap the drivers to 2.86".

I run the 2.25 Powerclaw AC track pn my MTX 153 and love it. I only have 600km's on it so far but its been fantastic. Gets you on top of the snow and seems to hook up really well. We tested in 110cm's of freshy last March and although we don't have vertical chutes, lots of mountian roads/clear cuts to hike and it ripped.

The only thing I have heard is the PC's are sketchy on steep decents. I can't confirm this because we don't have the terrain.

The Challenger Extreme is also a very good track, and most of the guys choose between the two. THe Ascent/Peak is supposed to be good, but its been out for a year now, and it doesn't seem to get the kudos the PC and CE get overall.

My 2 cents.

OTM

I ran the PC for 2 years and thought it did fine, then I decided to add boost and the Pc spun to much and went to the peak 2.5 and have had good luck with the peak.
You dont have to change anything to swap to the PC very easy.
I would and always run an antistab kit though.

Just got a AC take off powerclaw for my 2010 mtx 162, this track is night and day diff from the shitty maverick track, I just used my factory drivers, no modification needed, fit right in.
