I just bought this Premium combination trunk bag for my 09 nytro and took it out for a ride this weekend. It connects in two places on the grab handle in the back and also has black fasteners on the side of the tunnel on each side. The buckles on the back held fine but the straps on the tunnel kept letting go of the strap. Is there a trick to getting these to work? I riveted the clips to the sid but it seems you can pull the strap out by hand pretty easily. I ride pretty hard but the bag still fell off a few times and was dragging. I have a few good wear spots in this bag now and it is brand new! Will Yamaha warranty something like this?

The ones on my saddle bags work fine...I make sure the end of the clip that you lift always points down...

I actually tried it both ways. since there is only one rivet in it, I was able to spin it around and it didn't matter. Did you have anything else to tighten that up? Just a rivet right? Or did you put a washer or something to lift the rivet up and maybe keep more pressure on it?

I just installed the same bags on my 10 vector LTX GT.
The locking levers on the riveted tunnel clips do not lock well to the straps.
I have not lost the bag yet but due to low snow conditions have not put on many miles.
I have Yamaha saddlebags on my RS Venture and the locking levers work much better.

Just the rivet...I've heard of people tying a knot in the strap if there is enough slack...knock on wood mine lock good have over 100 miles with no problems yet.
