anyone know the average price drop that will occur on a new 08 fx nytro rtx when the 09's become available??? what I am looking to find out is how much i would save if i waited until spring to get an 08 rather than buying it now....thanks for your in put - Derrick

this will only depend on how many are left over....Yamaha are not as bad as others for stuffing the dealers with non current sleds.....keep an eye for stock level and price will most likely follow...

$1,000 Im guessing unless this sled ends up like the Fuse 9 then possibly a lot more

Price Drop

IMO, I would say if you are serious in this model, buy now. Supposedly there were not many produced. By end of February you will find it hard to locate a FX Nytro. Most likely by spring there will be none left, only the very few Dealers used as demos for their top Staff to use. If you purchase one of them, then the discount will already be in place because it is a demostrator. Good Luck

scfd Rookie5,
please post your location in your profile, it is extremely helpful.

So far the FX seems to be a good seller, like somebody else mentioned Yamaha does overbuild but by a small margin.

and snow conditions have been great this year..so far knock on wood

so you will have to watch closely for a dealer that ends up with excess inventory and be willing to travel and strike while the iron is hot.

Heinen's in Osseo, MN has Nytro RTX's for $8999 right now - all colors. No set up or delivery charge - just a $50 document fee. I'd be surprized if you will see any better price for quite a while. Yamaha's current incentives end 12-31, so the January price will likely be higher unless they come up with a new incentive because of slow sales and that doesn't seem to be the case with the early snow. Prices did go up last year in January when I bought a Phazer FX from them. I wanted to buy a 2nd Phazer in March-April, but the prices were higher than in January and this dealer was sold out in late January.

I'd say there's not too much price movement left until next fall 2008 when the big incentives come back on carryovers.

Every spring, for the past few years, I drive by dealers in MN and see crates of carryover Polaris'. Very common. Similar situation some years with Cat dealers. Each fall, lots of MN dealers blow out 1 and 2 year old carryover Poos and Cats. That doesn't seem to be the case with Yamahas, and especially with popular new ones like the Nytro.

For example - I was at a small Yamaha dealer in the Minneapolis area two weeks ago and he had 4 Nytros on the floor - that's all he had ordered. I went back a week later, to see if he would be dealing on price - and he only had one left. Guess that answered my question.

I cant say how it is in the states but here in sweden the dealers preorder the sleds they think they can sell. And as it looks now there are not alot of them left... My dealer had to let go of a few of his because there were already short somewhere else...

Luckily I had mine on preorder :yam:

The only time that Yamaha had a big price drop on hold overs when the 03 rx1 was 2 years being a hold over and droped almost 5000 off the price at my local dealer.

Buy now , and start enjoying right away ,.......... AS PRICES ARE GOING UP MORE THAN EVER NEXT YEAR IN THE U.S.
Blame the weak U.S. $
