Can someone tell me the size of the bolt that holds the primary clutch on a 2007 Attak GT. Also can you tell me how you keep the clutch from turning when you are trying to loosen the bolt. On my Ski Doo there is a special tool to hold the clutch and on my Arctic Cat I used a pry bar thru the clutch to the belly pan. This method does not appear to work because the removable side panels does not leave anything to pry against. Thanks for the help.

The thread is an american size (something like 1/2 x 13 but I dont remember exactly) I would use the Yamaha bolt myself, because there ase so many different grades of bolts at hardware stores.

There is a clutch holder tool, try Port or Richie Rich in the vendor section.

But what I use is a 1/2 inch pnumatic impact wrench. Get the compressor up to 80 lbs and the bolt breaks loose.

clutch

i just use an hockey stick shaft (low tec) i have the yamaha holder and i am well less than impressed . i dont recomend useing an impact on clutch bolt.s as this does not do good things for crank shafts and related parts.

bolt

it is 1/2x 20 or fine thread. I have used grade 8 bolts in the past with no problems. However I would stay with the yamaha bolt in the yamaha clutch.

I'm not real hot on the Impact Wrench idea either. I have bought 4 Cranks and one Case (Not Yamaha). I am real picky about what touches the Crank.

The hockey stick is a really good Idea. It has more flat surface area than the 3' long half-inch pipe I use. (Maybe I am not as picky as I think, right?) Although, I may have to wrestle that stick away from my Grand-daughter, if she is around when I do the clutch.
