I would like to take my primary apart to install the shim kit to get rid of the annoying rattle. Is this a difficult task? Are there any springs or parts that may come flying out as it's disassembled? Shimming the bolts that hold the rollers in place didn't get rid of the rattle.

The O rings didnt last long in mine either. I am now thinking about trying some plastic washers. If the noise is coming from the roller pin, I dont think a shim kit will fix the noise. Did it quiet down when you first tried the O rings? Mine did, thats why I am going to try to find something that will work on them.
You have to take the spider off to install the shim kit. In order to do that, you have to have the major clutch tools. You can also try taking it to a dealer for disassembly.

you have to shim the sliders. You need a break down tool to take the spider apart. They are fairly expensive.

The o rings on the roller pins didn't work from the get-go.

If the noise didnt go away when you put the O rings in then you have a different noise. Mine was quiet, for a while, then it started making noise again. I checked it and most of the O rings were gone, so I am going to try somethind else, plastic washers.. :rocks:

How much clearance do your sliders have without the "O" Rings?

I never checked them because the noise went away when I put the O rings in.

I pulled my clutch, took the cover off and removed the spring. There is little if any play between the sliders and the towers. I'm now thinking the rattle is coming from the play in the weights and the rollers. The rollers have a noticeable grove worn in them and the weights have a notch worn in them about halfway along the ramp surface where they contact the rollers.
With 9,000 miles I guess it's time for new weights and rollers. I'm going to shim the weights and rollers tighter when I put it back together and see if the noise disappears.
Anyone know of any deals on weights and rollers? Stock is fine for me.
