Does anyone have any tricks for disassembling a primary clutch? I'm getting a puller tomorrow to remove the clutch from my sled. I'm wanting to get the spiders out so i can inspect everything and clean it up. Is there a way to get the primary apart without the Yamaha tool? I've asked in the clutch forum and didn't get any responses, seems this forum gets more traffic so thought i'd try here.

you have to have a special tool to unscrew the back fix plate off. if you go to a dealer they can do it fast an charge you a small fee like maybe 25.00 and put back together when you are done.

I believe the only way is with th3 tools to hold the clutch from the back side and the tool to spin off the spider. Sometimes takes a very long bar to break it loose.
