I'm in the process of removing my primary sheave for inspection, clean and regrease. Do I really need to buy a sheave holder from Yamaha like my manual sugests or is there another way to get around it. I have a bad habit of pushing tools to far and end up with a great deal of @#%* words and broken parts.

Thanks for the advice Grizzhopper. Well I thought about it for a while then pulled out an old v-belt. Wrapped it around the sheave, fastened it tight with a pair of multi-grips then used a tie down strap to anchor the belt to the a-arm. It worked a treat. Got both sheaves off without to much trouble. Now all I have to do is clean regrease and put them back on.
