Is there a way to put a primer on a rx1. I have a 03 RX1 and my buddy has an 07 Venture. They are both carborated models and both start like crap when cold, but once they are warm they both start real easy. His Venture seems to worse that my RX1. Could there be another underlying problem that is causing this problem.

I have an '07 RS Venture. Now that the engine has been rebuilt, it starts right away on full choke, when cold.
The exhaust valves, guide, and head were defective right from the factory, and I suffered with a cra**y starting/running sled for two years before they could figure out the problem.

Are your batteries in good shape and are you running 0w40 full synthetic oil?

My battery is great on my rx1, It will crank over forever. And yes I am using full synthetic 0w40. my buddy is using the recomended yamaha oil and his also cranks over forever, so he says.

I am running cr10ek plugs and mine start right away I have a 04 and 05 rx1 on full choke. Maybe you are having fuel drain from your carbs or pumps. Could also be cracked intake boots or carbs not seated properly. Your going to have to do a process of elimination.

If you havent already you might clean the pilot jets in the carbs. My Rage had gotten were it was tuff to start cold. After I cleaned the pilot jets it seemed to start much easier when cold. G.B.
