I have run into a few prob on my 08 fx nitro mtx hope i could get some help please.
1) this year for some reason i have been bottoming out like crazy on the front stoppers of my track by the front shock I have allready put the shock to the max but it does not seem to help much i looked over everything and all my shock look ok but i did notis that there is grease coming out of the top of the weight transfer bars and im not sure if that is normal? anythought on what i could do?
2) I seem that the fan for the rad is not kicking on when the temp light kicks on i can't reameber if it should or if it will come on a little after the light is on.and is there a way to test the fan without tacking it to a dealler?
thanks for any info you might have jim

I would pull the shock and have the dealer or third party shock shop look at it. It is possible it could have failed. There is nothing else you can check to stop the front of the skid from bottoming.
Is it possible that the upper support for the spring failed or is missing? Is it possible the spring broke? But, either way, ...
It looks like the spring and shock, etc. come from Yamaha as a single unit. If you need discrete parts, you may have to go to a third party or you will end up replacing the whole unit. (Spring & Shock, etc.).
