I noticed this rattle when i first got the sled, but the dealer said he was waiting on the Y-pipes and donuts to do the warranty change. I figured that this was causing this rattle, but tuesday of this week i had new Y-pipes and donuts put on and it still has a rattle. sounds like its coming from either the left side of the sled or under the gas tank.
Has anybody heard of this before or know where i should start looking? Im going to be tearing into it tomorrow most likely. Either that or i will take it to the dealer and have it checked out if the warranty covers it.

Let me know if you find out before I do as I'm having what sounds like the same rattle. IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS. I was thinking it was the donuts going bad but haven't torn into it yet as we just got home from the U.P. riding in Grand Marais. We also did some water skipping but it was a river not on the trails Ha Ha. I will be tearing it down to see if I can find the source sometime this week. My kids are on spring break so not sure when I'll get to it, but hopefully this week. Gene

Gene: Likewise, i will let you know if i figure out the problem, will you do the same for me as well.
we also were doing some waterskipping this weekend. Skipped a pond about 40 yards long. It was my first time, i was very surprised with how well the apex went across the water. It was a big rush too.

Yep if I find it I will post for you. The Attak doesn't do too bad skipping but it isn't quite as confidence inspiring as my Polaris (edge chassis) and I got sprayed with alot more water on my legs on the Attak. Good thing I had on my Klim Goretex bibs and jacket, I stayed perfectly dry. Gene

Check in front of the right footrest. Mine had a metal plate that would vibrate against the back of the footwell at a certain speed. I put a piece of foam tape between the two. If you flick the metal plate against the footwell you will hear the noise

Be sure its not the transfer rod clunking on extension before you tear apart.

I know its not the transfer rod, thats a whole different problem.....but its still getting the transfer mod done this summer though.
I will definately check the front right footrest.

Yeah mine is not the transfer rod either it sounds just as originally posted, on the left side under the tank. My transfer rod does clunk but that is a completely different issue. This weekend I was riding with my moto helmet and no balaclava so I was able to hear the sound quite clearly. It definitely sounds like under the tank but I will check the right footwell also. Gene

Is it possible that you have a tunnel protector coming loose?

The rattle is coming from the front hood the the hood doesnt fit tight on the the front u hook or what ever you want to call it I had the same rattle and I put my hand on the hood as it was doing it and it went away. so I put a shop rag around the bar and then installed the hood rattle gone

Funny Sportfury,
I noticed the same thing and wrapped the bar with foam and then used electrical tape all around it to hold it in place.

I had a loose tunnel protecter fixed under warranty. It was loose in the back by the flap but other than direction the noise description is the same as I experienced.
