I just started my sled and one of the bulbs did not come on. Ran it for 15 minutes to see if it would but nope. Its about a 3 year old sledstart HID kit on 2010 Apex.
I had one on my wifes van that bothered after a few years, it was just a connection in the harness. make sure everything is tight, also swap plugins so you can find out if it is the bulb, ballast or starter. If it is the bulbs, they are dirt cheap.

I took headlite pod off and pulled both bulbs. All connectors were secure. I decided to start sled, and the darn things worked. Hmmm. I really didn't do anything to fix it, it just came on. At least its now in my warm garage to pack all the wires neatly back where they were.

Probablly had some minor corrosion on one of the connector pins.
Is this from sledstart? Talk to Kurt, but kinda a common problem with old ballasts. Upgade to new ballasts and new harness.....problems solved. Kurt has great customer service. He will fill you in.

Had this same problem. Kurt will tell you it's a bad battery. Is the battery old or not maintained? My battery were old and had enough charge to start the sled but hadn't been maintained. Throw it on a charger for a while and should be fine.. or look at a battery replacement.

The battery is well maintained. Also, it was just one of the bulbs. Yes it is a Sledstart kit. It works now, must of wiggled something. The connections clip together really well so wouldn't think it was a loose connection. Will see if it does it again. Might have been just my eyes, but the bulb looked a tiny bit different than the one that was working. Slight haze maybe. Also when I did get it working, looked like it took a minute to get to that brilliant shine, slightly yellowish at first. I tried blocking the sun from shinning on it with cardboard just to rule that out. Oh. Works now.

Hard to say what the problem was if your battery is in good shape. I'd give Kurt a call then. Hopefully it was a one-time thing?

Happens to me a couple of times a year.
If one is out, turn off your sled after a few minutes and then restart and my guess is they will both light up. [thats the way mine is anyhow]

Very likely a battery connection issue I would say. I have no idea why it does it but it will make it so only one bulb will turn on. My cousin's viper had a brand new battery in great shape but has a short in the handwarmers that would weaken the battery while riding. When this happened only one light would work. When he turned the handwarmers off and the battery got its life back together they both worked fine. If your battery is strong I would put big money on the fact that there was a slightly loose or corroded connection somewhere that was limiting the power you were getting from your battery.
