Project SOS

are you guys doing anything extra for fuel? a trail tank at WFO the whole time will only take you maybe 100 miles on land, so if you are planning on going 60+ miles on water WFO is going to be stretching it...

Good luck tho! I would love to see a nytro hold the water skipping record!

Race conditions we get close to 10mpg and hard trail riding right around 14mpg.

When conditions are right we are confident that the sled will skip just fine in the 45-50mph range so 100+ is achievable.

Current Guinness record is 43.3 miles and Mark Maki's unofficial record is 61.7 so that is our goal for this year!

Here is one of the helmet camera videos, we really diving into all this footage to pick up any clues besides the rough conditions causing problems...

Project SOS footage from May 20

We will learn from this and make improvements for the next attempt.

Also, we are ditching the Facebook event page and created a group page so it is easier to find and follow

With the changes we are making next attempt will go much better!

We are on a smaller lake and will watch weather daily, our goal is 5mph or less winds!

When we start testing with the new setup I'll post footage from those sessions.

It is amazing what the crew can learn first hand from this footage and by posting it on YouTube we have some of the top Yamaha tuners and IWA racers giving their input.

We WILL put another Guinness Record notch in the Yamaha 4 Stroke belt!

Just got approval on my permit application for the next attempt!!

I will be going for it on Yellow Lake in Webster, WI sometime within the next two months!

Just waiting on fabrication to finish on some new parts then lots of testing before going out again for the record.

Went up to Yellow Lake yesterday to finalize site prep and pick up my permit from the Sheriff so everything is a GO!!

Just waiting on some new parts to be fabricated and we will be out testing within the next week.

The window is July 10-12 at Yellow Lake Lodge which everyone in this area knows it was a HUGE waterskip stop in the winter time back in the 90's before the county passed an ordinace banning it.

Yellow Lake Lodge is extremely excited to have waterskipping back at the resort even if it is only for a day!

Stay tuned for more info.

Thanks to everyone that stopped by & chatted at Grantsburg.

Hopefully seeing Trevor & I tearing around Memory Lake on our Nytro's pur a smile on your faces!

We finished putting mine back together Thursday night so we only knew in theory how the sled would perform for my demo runs. Sled worked awesome, so good in fact I forgot to wait for the clutches to dry before the 3rd pass & that's why I went down...

We are making some more changes & testing over the next 6 weeks then will be at the IWA race at Brainerd International Speedway Sept 14/15, might even enter some races there!!

In the meantime I'll post all the GoPro footage here from testing and we'll also be out at Hay Day's in the Cor PowerSports booth so stop by & chat. Tech talk, bench racing, & just hanging out is all welcomed in our booth!!

How many miles did you travel on water? Anywhere near the record? Or has the focus changed to racing?

We have been focused on testing and getting the setup where we want it, I will be doing some racing but in the end our goal is the record.

A new record was set 2 days ago but it's not official yet, Antii Holmberg in Finland went 111.9 miles so now we are looking at adding an aux fuel cell to stretch it even further

Do you know what kind of sled the guy in Finland was riding?
