I've been locking down my SRX secondary for the last two seasons as a stocker (Grass-Dragging/Trail Riding) and raced it on the tar this past summer. I use the secondary belt deflector as well. I definitely think there is an advantage. When you pull up to race it's always in the correct position. My personal take on this is that yamaha is covering there but on motors that move. The 03-Viper is a good example on this. The motor mounts were/are not adequate for that motor. I seen two of them break myself. And this was on a stocker. When this was first reveled to the public, yamaha said, 'It's supposed to work that way..." hmmmm. Almost all the guys I know that tune their Vipers have put the stabilizing-bar on the motor, just like the SRX. The big drawback is that you need to keep on top of your clutch alignment. I use an alignment tool. I checked it after every race. My sled has over 4500mi on it. The new motor has about 30miles on it, however it's has a lot more power than the stocker. I will continue to check it. If this becomes a problem I will post and let all the fellow TY-ers know what's-up...
As for the RX... I have a warrior and will do some experimenting this winter and see if it makes a difference… No ‘snow’ miles  on the Warrior yet…
Matt, Great subject… Hope my real-world results helps.
