Well, I finally had a chance to put some miles on the RTX this weekend. We did just 100 on Saturday and 353 from 10 am sunday to 5:30 am monday morning! We completed a "hat trick" from Nash Stream NH up into Canada over into Maine and down back into NH. VERY Lonnnngggg ride that I wouldn't recommend. The sled held up great though and I was dialing in the suspension all day. I found that on the 3rd clip cam#1, I had proper sag with my 285lb arse, but sacrificed handling quite alot. it acted like the regular torsion suspensions when you crank up the cente rshock too much...alot of teatering. I went back down to clip 2 at cam #7 and the handling was 100% better. I will have to add the "fat boy" spring for sure since I was bottoming out alot in the rough. I found the Ra adjuster was great, I would move it to full hard in the bumps and go mid way on the groomers. I did a little informal drag racing with my buddy riding my old 03' F7. He has 120 original studs and I have the 144 1.40", he would take me 2 sleds off the line and we would stay that way accross diamond pond. My transfer was set right in the middle. I adjusted the transfer to 1 line past middle towards more transfer and it helped me out of the hole better and I would stay with him out of the hole and start to pull on the top. We were only seeing 96 on my gps after some long runs, so conditions weren't the greatest. I was seeing 10,200 rpms on the long runs, should I be seeing a little more? I also lined up with some other guys I didn't know, approximatley 8 sleds, one mach Z and what looked like a Apex GT and some revs, It seemed the mach was getting out quick and pullin while the Gt was close by then I would pull past the revs and be 3rd. This was all done with the transfer set in the middle and RA adjuster mid-hard setting. I felt my holeshot was bad.
I then played with a guy on an 05' Fusion with all the updates and the 1st time he got me off the line and I stayed a sled length behind. The second time I got him off the line and he actually pulled close mid and I stayed a ski length ahead to take it...very close. That being said, I weight 285 out of the shower, so I usually don't expect to be the first across a lake unless I'm tuboed! Next time I'll try full weight transfer and set the RA adjuster to full soft...would that help?
The sled ran great, the grips were weird, my pinky fingers would get cold at first but if I maintained a higher rpm, the grips would eventually get better. I also have the fox floats set on 60 psi and they seemed to handle everything the rear bottomed on. Steering seemd good, maybe a little heavy, but I feel the shims and bergstrom carbide did as good as expected from the stock skis. I noticed a little darting when the trails got colder and harder...I would follow someones "track" until I snapped the throttle to get out of it. I was getting som inside ski lift when I got lazy, but if I through some weight into the corners it started to rail. All in all I was very pleased with this sled.

Great report and good results for the RTX. I too tip the scales to far270+ and always wonder the difference it makes.
Glad you like the sled I can not wait, my plan of next year is getting tough.

Thanks. Sometimes I miss being 150lbs. LOL. But I love my lobster, Micky D's and Steak! Also met a TY member, I forgot his handle...he also had a RTX with a revalved shock. Nice guy, thanks for the advice on not taking that trail! I'm sure he'll see the post.

Sounds like you guys had a good ride. I am heading up Wednesday night and will be back Sunday, i hope the weather holds up and i can finally put some miles on the Attak. I put the Bergstrom 8" triples on with 3/8" ski savers and shims, first time using this set up, hope it works.

Brought the sled to Culleys, found the lower a-arm front bushing broken and the inner bushing cracked, didnt have the parts to fix it right so we had to Mcgyver it back together, it will be fine for this weekend. Yamaha will not cover it, said it was from some type of impact, although there are no impact marks.... :o| :o|

Checked my BIL sled today, dont i find his lower a-arm bushing on the left side broken...hmmmm. Will have to let Culleys know about this.

Thanks for the report on your set ups.

hey my outdoors i saw ya sat night. iwas riding th rtx with all yellow stuff we should do some riding some time i usaully go to pittsburg but i liked twin mtn and jefferson but dont know the area to well. and i can always use a couple of riding buddys.

Hey sounds good. How did you make out that weekend? How long of a hold time did it take for your shock revalve? The next day, I bottomed quite a few times and need the heavty spring.

Paul, I don't know how the conditions will fair if they get this rain we are having right now. This is bad! I may try and see if I can hit Canada before the wife gives birth!

it takes 4 days to ship out he gets the shock that day he revalves it and i had him put the bigger spring in it to. and then ships it out the next day so 8-10 days ground shipping. nows a good time with this crappy weather were having. i shoulda let ya ride mine i have it on the softest setting and havent bottomed it yet and its only $145 plus shipping
