I use the Fluid Film also , great stuff , excellent protection, works on metals and plastics, I use plexus on the winsheild though
never heard of plexus,is it like pledge, that's what i use for the windy, works awesome,i'm still gonna ride this season,i'm determined, lol
Plexus is great stuff and can be bought at most sled/motor-cycle type shops or at Royal Distributing.

It is a little pricey but it works great imo.
I use it on my hood/cowl/windshield on both sleds.

I-Pone also sells something similar, it is about half the price and twice as big as the Plexus can but I find it doesn't shine up like the Plexus does.

Hey guys thanks for all the great input.

I agree that WD-40 is not ideal. A sales guy once told me it stand for Water Displacement formula version#40, and was designed to dry out ignition wires! It was never intended as a lubricant.

Irv, what is LPS? Who sells it and the Fluid Film?

GBG
GBG, TSC stores carry the LPS penetrant/protectant but I am sure some others do as well? (Google search?)

Fluid Film can also be purchased at TSC but I do believe Can Tire carries it as well? (Another Google search?)

Man, I wish this site had Multi-Quote!.

I use Rust Check or Krown, both are rust proofers and just protect, they don't clean.

Been doing it this way for years, and not bragging but I always get compliments on how mint my sleds are.

That Indy is in awesome shape IRV.

How do you get the Rust Check off in the fall ?
I use it on my Auto's and it is a bitch to get off after a few weeks.

I hope your kidding about getting the Rust Check off, especially on your Auto's? :dunno:

I use it on suspension components, my exhaust pipe(xlt) and similar places on both sleds, I do not spray the "Entire" sled down with the stuff.
I also grease, wax or use plexus, 303 spray, clean, wipe etc to keep things looking the way they do.

Thanks for the compliments ;)!

I run mine through the pond, then some briers/brush. then I take the time I saved to do actual maintenance. to me, spit shined hardly makes something mint. nothing against something being clean, just that in my experience here in the shop, the guys that spit shine, generally have no clue on the mechanical end of things. my sleds are to ride, care less about showing them off

Good luck getting top dollar when it comes time to sell your toys.
I guess you have more money than me or your's is a lot easier to come by than what mine is :dunno:

Plexus is hard to find, Some CTC and Yammie dealers have it , its for aerospace winshields , scary expensive but the protection is awsome

Any Parts Unlimited dealer can get it.

you can be like me a rip your whole sled apart and go through everything over the summer and paint it each year and put it back together right before the snow flys lol
