Question: 2005 RS Rage..oil in air box/breather

After a ride with this sled..(just purchased used) I noticed excessive oil in the air box/breather. I check the oil..it is down...but I also hear a release of pressure when I open the oil cap on the engine itself.

I have an RX1 with no issues like this. Has anyone had this type of problem or does anyone know what the problem might be?

Hey good to go, I ride an 05 vec and have not heard/had any issues like that. My questions are;

Was the machine on a steep angle while engine running?

Just how much oil was in the airbox foam and just how far down on the stick was your oil level?

Had the same problem with a 2006 Vector. Dealer/Mechanic found a rubber seal under camshaft/valve cover misplaced. Repositioned it along with some contact cement, problem solved.

I also do not fill oil tank to the top of hatch mark on stick, keep it approx 1/8 below full.
