Question about: 06 vs. 07

Guys,
I'm looking to start another project and i am asking the question about the performance differences between the 06 and 07 Attak. Other items of interest are related to electronic issues, chassis, etc.

I plan on drag racing this sled and eventually putting a turbo on it for Tar, Grass, and Ice. It will not be my trail sled.

No difference other than the handwarmers. In fact, I even put the 06 bars on the 07 with the 07 harness. The update bars for the 06 have the harness on. Well, you may know the story on the whole hand warmer deal. Other than that the only difference is decals and color of the vents.

Thanks for the info. Plan on doing what you did/are doing with your CPR Turbo Sled and then putting it on the Tar this summer... Just looking for some input on the differences. Local 06' attak is F/S for a good price.

I thought they changed the gearing in 07 and added the improved chaincase as well?

Gearing wasn't changed but they did change the cover. I saw it in the 07 spec manual myself.

They changed the gearing on the RTX only?

As I recall they went from CDI ignition (06) to TCI (07)

CDI is supposed to give you a hotter sharper ignition pulse at higher RPMS.

Does it make a difference in a modified application?
Only guys of Mike Knapps caliber would know that.
