Are the A arms shorter on the mountain sleds?
I am building a prostock RX1 and don't need the wide stance.

Check to verify whether or not the shocks are shorter also. I know RX-1 has 9" of travel vs. 7" on the mountain sleds up front.

I appreciate the info guys, the shock length doesn't matter since it will be a prostock racer with custom shocks.
Are there even shorter versions available aftermarket and lighter?
Ted I wouldn't go any narrower than the mtn stance if your going 130+mph and hit a little bump the narrower you go the more your sled is going to get out of control.
Don't think anybody makes any narrow then the stock 38.6" stance. Buddy of mine makes chromloy a-arms, drops about 6.5lbs for $600cdn. There is a couple of guys make then out of carbon fibre, drops around 9lbs for $2500 cdn. These numbers are against the stock 03 arms, the heaviest ones yami made. Heard somebody in B.C. was making Ti arms for $750 cdn. But Diamond S in Utah wants alot more his Ti arms, don't know the price or weight savings on those.

summitking told me of a dealer/friend of his making some this summer that will save close to 16 lbs from stock Apex A-Arms...... might look into that a bit more, not suppose to loose any strength, maybe gain some.
