Just bought a new 09 RTX Nytro and heard rumors that the base model rides better than the RTX, any truth to that rumor.

Depends what your riding on.
Rough Trail (RTX) Nytro will be rougher on the smooth trails, but will ride great in the bumps/moguls.
The FX Nytro will ride better on groomed trails, but not as bump capable as the RTX.
Hope this helps.

Its too bad you did not know anyone up at Houghton Lk over the weekend, they had the Yamaha Demo days up there and YOU could have rode all the models just to see how they ride !!!!!!! I would hate to see you get on your friends Apex Attak and like that ride much better.....................

I did know a few people up at Houghton, wasn't willing to wait to demo ride the new yamies. I feel the Nytro was a good buy for me.
