Had the two lower bulkhead oilite bushings needing to be replaced on my 08 Apex so decided to replace the lower bulkhead bolts with the newer style that have grease zerks on the head of the bolt. When ordering the bolt, the grease zerk is separate so you have to thread it onto the bolt head. Here's my question...how tight do you tighten the grease zerk? Never had to replace a zerk so not sure if you just snug it up or what. I doubt there's any torque spec but thought it would need to be tight enough to not allow grease to escape pass the zerk. The other question is do you use some sort of thread sealant tape as well? Most sites I searched just either went over how to replace or tap a new one but nothing really on how tight to tighten them. The one video I watched just had the guy thread the zerk on without any sealant tape so maybe its not needed but wanted to confirm nonetheless.
If anyone is curious as to the part numbers for these newer style bolts, the bolt part number is 90401-10045 and the grease zerk is 93700-06M03.

Just run it in with a 1/4in ratchet and 2 fingers. Depending on sizing of threaded hole it will either stop when all the way in or stop partway. I never used any sealant or tape on them.
Those are nice find!

Thanks Steve, was close to calling you because I figured you would know but didn't want to bother you with such a simple question. Just didn't want to go all out them and end up snapping off the zerk head.

BTW, Ulmer Racing offers these along with his oilite bushings for the older Apex's. Not sure what year they started using them. LOL, I noticed them on my 18 when removing the YRSS for you to service and thought they would be nice on my 08 too.

I’m fairly certain they started using them on the 2010 and newer Deltabox II and then III chassis sleds. At least all of the units I have worked on have been this way.
