Has anyone used a raptor cam and springs in a stock grizzly 660 motor? Did it lose any bottom end? did it gain any mid and top end?

I have the cam in my Grizz.... didnt loose anything to my knowledge but I also added the 686 big bore and porting...

Dont install a stage 2 ,the cam is way to big on top end for the grizzly clutches and those heaver valve springs will give you valve slap and premature wear. With the stage 2 installed you will have little bottom end and even less top end than stock. Trust me I learned the hard way.Go with the mudbuster it was designed for the grizzly and the stage two is for the rapter head only. :4STroke:

Mr. Sled. Have you had any engine reliabilty issues with the 686. I just dont know if I want to bore it out yet. I hope we will see something bigger on June 12. But I'm not going to hold my breathBut I would like to squeeze a little more power out of the 660. I'm wondering about head work. I went to an ATV pull on Saturday, in my class I took 4th, 1st and 2nd place went to Polaris Military 700s which weigh 400 lbs more than me. Also, I got beat by a Prairie 650 by 10 ft. I want to see what options I have to compete with them. Thanks for any availabe info.

I have been running this big bore for a year now and have had no problems.... I even plow snow all winter with it. My head work was done by Joe from Rossier, and they are really well known for great head work to keep your clearances and everything right and safe on Pump gas.

What town/ city is Rossier in? What did it cost for the head work? Did your motor run hotter after the big bore kit was put in.

If you want sick power out of a grizzly heres what you do.
11.1 piston 660cc
HMF full exhaust system
Mud buster cam with Rapter center valve spring
clutch kit
jet kit
K&N airfilter with with lid and TPI valves
CDI
And last but not least some minor porting
This machine must run on 94 octane or higher
Punch it going 60KMH and it will lift the tires
Might have to change spark plug for more combustion
It beats a 800 polaris .Have not raced with a outlander yet but it should be exciting

;)!

I want to thank everyone for their info, I not sure If I want to mod my 660, I think I might have my better half talked into buying a 700. Thanks again
