i can't connect to my RB3, all i get is that the usb adaptor is not connected.
tried on to computers with the same thing happening???
do anyone know what it could be?
i do not have the RB3 on my snowmobile yet, but i don't have to, right? just to read the map and stuff??

Your Rb3 needs to see power.
ok. can i use a 9v battery to do that?

I am having the same issue although I haven't really worked on it very hard but I posted this and got a different answer. If anything I would think it needs 12v.

Yes 12 volts
just found out the problem. my wiring harnest is the problem.
you don't need power to see and program the rb3, tested on another harnest and everything workt fine
